Carl Wallace
Fractional CFO
Carl Wallace is the founder of FluentCFO and brings over two decades of financial leadership to growth-stage companies. As a former Chief Credit Officer at Millennium Bank and Chief Credit/Risk Officer at SONA Bank, he has led multiple financial system implementations and secured significant debt placements for technology companies across the DC region.
Carl also founded Corpexpert, a firm specializing in technology commercialization, strategy, product development and the management of unique technologies with applications for the Department of Defense and commercial industries. He holds a BA in Management from National Louis University, an MPS in Technology Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland, and is a veteran reservist of the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
Kristen Gauffreau

Kristen Gauffreau is a seasoned consultant in the GovCon space, specializing in government contracting, finance, accounting, strategic human resources, regulatory compliance, and operational optimization. With over 15 years of experience, she brings deep expertise in assisting small to medium-sized businesses in navigating the complexities of government contracting and compliance.
Her experience has culminated from working in Government contracting across all spectrums: working as an auditor within the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA), and within private industry both for and consulting for start-ups to multi-billion dollar enterprises. Kristen’s expertise is within indirect rate structures, forward pricing proposals, timekeeping compliance, and accounting system compliance. Her value add to clients is in her ability to provide strategic consulting across accounting, finance, contracts, and human resources departments. By integrating these strategic skills into operational optimization, she has transformed profitability, enhanced internal processes, and driven successful business outcomes and transformations for clients across all industries.
Gary W Bogatay
Fractional CFO
Gary W Bogatay is a seasoned Corporate Financial Executive with an entrepreneurial approach and 30 years of experience across the full business lifecycle, from startups to publicly traded companies and family offices. After beginning his career at Deloitte & Touche, he has developed and implemented strategic plans across revenue initiatives, accounting, finance, legal, IT, contracts, compliance, and marketing, consistently driving performance through financial analytics and data. His expertise spans both strategic consulting, having personally composed dozens of business plans, and comprehensive risk management, including insurance and loss control tactics.
His extensive experience includes managing teams of up to 50 employees internationally, sophisticated financial analysis and forecasting, strategic consulting, and fundraising through private equity, angel investment, mezzanine debt, and public markets. Bogatay has managed corporate investment funds up to $60 million and has significant experience with SEC requirements and compliance, having implemented Sarbanes-Oxley and facilitated enterprise-wide internal control measures. His merger and acquisition experience includes working with numerous investment banks and overseeing multiple large transactions. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University.
